IBEW Local 876 Union Picnic & BBQ Cookoff

Join us for a day of fun, food, and friendly competition!

Date: Saturday, August 24th, 2024

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: River Country Campground

BBQ Cookoff Details:

• Open to all 876 members

• Meats: Ribs, Chicken, or Beef

           o You can pick any of the three, only one is scored

           o St. Louis or Baby Back ribs, Whole or Spatchcock chicken, tri-tip, chuck roast, brisket (if you dare)

• Prizes for top 3 winners

           o 1st place: Pit Boss Pro Series pellet smoker

           o 2nd place: Pit Boss Tabletop pellet smoker

           o 3rd place: Professional BBQ Tool Set

• Judging starts at 1:00 PM

           o Judges will be other members of the local. 

How to Enter:

• Sign up by August 10, 2024

• Sign up on the website’s event page and fill out the information 

What to Bring:

• Grill/smoker of your choosing

• Meat of your choosing (extra or a backup meat is recommended)

• Pellets, tools, rubs, etc.

Additional Information:

• There is no entry fee to enter the competition

• Someone from the local will be on site starting Friday afternoon if you would like to come early to set up

• Campsites are available 

• Yes, you can tend your smoker at your campsite, and bring your meat up to be judged

• Yes, you provide the meat for the competition

            o This makes it easier on the contestant to prepare for the event

• You’re free to start your smoke at any time as long as its ready by 1pm Saturday
